Birds Eye enters into plant-based protein: Make 'Meat Free Monday' any night of the week.

July 12 2021

While the origins of Meat Free Monday arose out of scarcity during wartime, consumers today are making the switch driven by increasing awareness about their diets' health and sustainability implications.

Birds Eye is attuned to these consumer needs and the increasing demand for meat alternatives. In response, they've developed a broad range of plant-based products that are high in protein and are sure to become mealtime favourites any night of the week.

The new Birds Eye Plant Based range includes delicious tasting plant-based mince, chicken style strips, chicken style tenders, meatballs, and burgers.

The Birds Eye range makes the transition to plant-based eating seamless and accessible for all consumers. Birds Eye is a known and trusted brand, and Australian consumers recognise it for quality and great-tasting products.

Katie Saunders, General Manager Marketing at Simplot Australia, makers of Birds Eye, attests to this. “In developing the plant-based range, we were focused on ensuring that it harnessed the goodness of nature and was crafted from the highest quality ingredients. In addition, it was paramount that it was just delicious to eat and had the texture and taste of meat."

"The easy formats make it so simple for consumers to swap traditional animal protein with plant-based protein options."

The new Birds Eye Plant Based range is now available nationally in the frozen section at Coles supermarkets.
