Simplot Australia’s mission is to supply branded food products to retail and food service markets in the Asia Pacific Region.  We are committed to supplying food products that consistently reward consumers with taste, enjoyment, convenience, health and nutrition. Simplot Australia recognises that food choice is influenced by many factors and that a balanced diet and an active lifestyle are important for good health and wellbeing.

Our Products
 
We offer a wide variety of healthy and nutritious foods to meet consumer needs through the use of high quality ingredients and production methods which maximise nutrient retention and taste.
 
e.g. The Captain Birds Eye range of products for children has been reformulated and does not contain added preservatives, artificial colours or flavours.
 
We utilise current nutrition research and guidelines to create new products and continually improve existing ones.
 
e.g. Simplot incorporates the Heart Foundation and various school canteens nutrition criteria when developing new products. The Birds Eye Create A Meal range has recently been reformulated to reduce and limit the amount of sodium.
 
We enhance nutrient content by limiting energy, fat, saturated fat, added sugar and sodium and increasing dietary fibre wherever possible.
 
e.g. The Birds Eye frozen potato product range is now healthier. The saturated fat content has been decreased by changing to healthier cooking oils.
 
We continue to develop appropriate portion and serving sizes, serving instructions, suggestions and recipes that are consistent with a balanced diet.

Our Partners
 
We undertake nutrition research with reputable health and nutrition organisations such as CSIRO Health Sciences and Nutrition, and the New Zealand Institute for Crop and Food Research.
 
We are committed to building strong partnerships with key health and nutrition organisations such as The Heart Foundation, Nutrition Australia and the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI).

e.g. Simplot has been part of the Heart Foundation Tick Program since 1993. Currently the Tick appears on more than 150 Simplot products, and many others are currently being reformulated to meet the Tick Program’s strict nutrient criteria.

We communicate to our consumers easy to understand health and nutrition messages based on dietary guidelines and sound scientific principles to assist with making informed food and lifestyle choices.
