CO-OPERATION
Simplot Australia is committed to working with growers towards improving the profitability and sustainability of their vegetable crops and at the same time encouraging discussion of industry-wide issues.

Simplot Australia (namely the Birds Eye and Edgell brands) have been working with Australian farmers since 1926. |

Simplot Australia works with approximately 520 farmers. |

All of Birds Eye's potato chips are 100% Australian grown. |

In 2004/05 the Birds Eye and Edgell brands accounted for more than 60 million kilograms of vegetables and more than 300 million kilograms of potatoes grown in Northern Tasmania alone. |
Simplot Australia participates in and runs a number of different programs to help growers become more competitive. These programs focus on two main areas:

on-farm productivity, and |

farm management skills |
As such, some of the programs implemented to date are:

Crop management service (a jointly funded program by participating growers and Simplot Australia) |

Measure Monitor Review (MMR) |

Cropping for Profit (CFP) |

Simplot Grower Business Groups |

To ensure highest quality food safety and good agricultural practices are maintained, Simplot Australia is working with its growers with the object that all suppliers are certified either under Freshcare or EurepGAP by 2008. |
