SIMPLOT AUSTRALIA'S COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
At Simplot Australia we bring earth's resources to life by transforming vegetables, fish and fruits to Australia's favourite food brands at the retail store, or at your local restaurant, cafe or hotel.
We recognise our responsibility to protect the global environment in our business activities. In our operations we understand the importance of preserving natural resources, minimising waste and efficiently using water and energy. We share this responsibility with our suppliers, our employees, the community and governments.
Good environmental management is vital to our long term growth to not only meet consumers' needs but to satisfy future generations.

Simplot Australia is committed to sourcing all of its fish from sustainable stocks. We work closely with our suppliers, the fishing industry and governments to implement this strategy.
Our John West and some of our Birds Eye Brands participate in the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) sustainable fishery certification. The MSC Standard is an internationally recognised set of environmental principles for measuring fisheries to assess if they are well managed and sustainable.
A well-managed and sustainable fishery protects the fish and the environment in which they live. When a fishery is sustainable it means that target fish populations are at healthy levels, sometimes having recovered from being depleted in the past. To learn more about the Marine Stewardship Council go to: www.msc.org
Simplot Australia is concerned that fish stocks are available for the benefit of future generations.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
At Simplot Australia, we recognise our corporate social responsibility to consider and protect the global environment in conducting our business activities. Using energy efficiently reduces our demand on natural resources and the associated equivalent greenhouse gas emissions.
Simplot Australia is a participating company in the Federal Government's Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) and National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) programs.
During 2009 Simplot Australia has undertaken and continues to undertake energy efficiency assessments across our head office and manufacturing facilities with the view to identifying and implementing cost-effective initiatives to improve energy efficiency, reduce cost and reduce our energy footprint.
Public details of our current energy assessment program prepared and signed by our Managing Director in accordance with the Federal Government's guidelines, can be found by clicking on the icon below.
